Who we are
Dexcrate is a free, non-commercial fan project for Pokémon card collectors, made by one person in the Netherlands. It is currently in a private beta. Contact: ask the person who invited you to the beta.
What we store
- Your account: your email address and your password (stored as a secure hash, nobody can read it).
- Your collection: the cards you add (with quantities, condition, prices you paid, locations), sales and purchases, your wishlist and lists, goals and settings.
- Photos and documents: card photos, scans you choose to keep and receipts you upload. They are private: only you can see them.
- Pack game: your Pack points, virtual cards and the history of how you earned and spent points.
- Technical logs: when you scan (to keep within the scan limits) and error reports from the app (the error message, app version and browser type), so we can fix bugs.
On your own device the app keeps your display settings and a copy of card data and prices, so it is fast and works offline. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising or analytics.
Who processes your data
- Supabase hosts the database, sign-in and file storage.
- Anthropic (USA): when you scan a card, the photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to recognise the card. Only the photo is sent, not your email address.
- GitHub Pages hosts this website and sees your IP address when you visit it.
- Card images, prices and Pokémon sprites are loaded by your browser directly from public sources (TCGdex, Limitless TCG, pokemontcg.io, TCGplayer, PokéAPI on GitHub, wsrv.nl for smaller images, jsDelivr for Chinese card data). These services see your IP address, like any website you visit. Missing card images are looked up on PriceCharting through our own server.
The administrator can see your email address, the number of cards you have, your Pack points, how often you scan and error reports, to help you when something goes wrong. Not your photos or what you paid.
Why
We use your data only to run the app for you (the agreement you make when you use Dexcrate). Error reports and scan logs are used to keep the app working and affordable (legitimate interest). We never sell your data.
How long
As long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your data and files are deleted.
Your rights
- See and take your data: Settings → Backup and restore downloads everything.
- Correct it: change anything in the app.
- Delete it: delete single items in the app, or your whole account.
- Questions or objections: contact us (ask the person who invited you to the beta). You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Changes
If this page changes in an important way, we will tell you in the app.
